HYPE-D: Hypertension and Diabetes Early Detection Initiative
On January 18, 2025, the Funmilayo Florence Babalola Foundation proudly launched the HYPE-D Project — our Hypertension and Diabetes Early Detection Initiative — with a powerful health outreach event in the Mbora-Lifecamp community.
The impact was immediate.
Over 150 individuals received free health education, blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, and BMI assessments. Participants identified with urgent medical needs were referred for further care — and the Foundation pledged to cover treatment costs for 25 individuals requiring immediate medical attention.
HYPE-D represents more than just an event — it’s the beginning of a long-term commitment to bridging the healthcare gap in underserved communities. By raising awareness and providing proactive care, we aim to reduce the devastating effects of hypertension and diabetes before it’s too late.
What’s Next for HYPE-D?
The first outreach was just the beginning. We’re already preparing for the next phase of the HYPE-D project — reaching more communities, expanding our services, and continuing the fight against diabetes and hypertension.
